Full interior decoration for a new coastal restaurant and bar
Envirodec delivered the internal decoration for Lansio Lounge, a newly transformed bar and restaurant on South Beach in Tenby.
The project involved the complete redecoration of the space, including the main restaurant, bar area and customer bathrooms. Working alongside the wider fit-out team, our role was to help bring the Loungers design vision to life through detailed painting and wallpapering throughout.
Set in a prominent beachfront location, the space was being completely reimagined from its previous use, creating a vibrant, welcoming environment ready for opening.
The name Lansio, meaning “launch” in Welsh, reflects the Lounge’s coastal setting, just moments from the harbour and lifeboat station.
The brief
The client required a full decorative finish across the venue, aligned with Lounges’ distinctive interior style. This included bold use of colour, patterned wallpapers and a layered, eclectic look that balanced comfort with character.
The key requirements were:
- A high-quality finish across all areas, including high-traffic spaces
- Careful installation of a variety of wallpapers and finishes
- Consistency across different zones, from bar to bathrooms
- A fast turnaround to meet a fixed opening date
The programme was tight, with the project needing to be completed in approximately two weeks ahead of launch. Coordination with other trades on site was essential to keep progress moving without compromising on quality.
Our approach
Preparation
As with all commercial decorating projects, preparation was a key focus. Surfaces were checked, filled and sanded where required to create a clean, even base for both paint and wallpaper finishes.
Given the mix of substrates across the space, preparation varied between areas, ensuring each surface was ready to receive the chosen system.
Products and finishes
The scheme combined durable paint finishes with a wide range of wallpapers to achieve the layered interior design.
Colour played a central role, with blues and warmer tones used throughout to create a relaxed, coastal feel, supported by feature walls and patterned finishes.
Wallpapering formed a significant part of the project, requiring careful alignment, clean joins and consistency across large areas. Particular attention was paid to edges, corners and transitions between materials to maintain a sharp, professional finish.
We also wallpapered a series of porthole-style windows, a subtle nod to the coastal setting. Their curved shape made them more challenging to work with, particularly when aligning intricate patterns, requiring careful cutting and precise application to achieve a clean result.
Paintwork was carried out across walls, ceilings and woodwork, ensuring an even finish throughout both customer-facing and back-of-house areas.
Communication and site management
With a short programme and multiple trades working simultaneously, clear communication was essential.
Work was planned and sequenced to fit around other contractors, allowing each area to progress efficiently without delays. Regular coordination on site helped ensure deadlines were met while maintaining the expected standard of finish.
The result
Lansio Lounge opened on schedule, with a fully realised interior that reflects the client’s vision.
The finished space combines bold colour, detailed wallpapering and clean paintwork to create a series of distinct yet cohesive areas throughout the venue. From the bar through to the dining spaces and bathrooms, the finish is consistent, durable and suited to a busy hospitality environment.
The result is a space that feels considered and complete, ready to welcome customers from day one.
